My thoughts on TV Shows and Who is My Favorite - USA Network tops the list.

This post mostly deals with my favorite TV shows; so be warned!

First up is Covert Affairs;
How much do I love this show? Well if you know anything about me, you would know that anything Chris Gorham does...I am there to watch! I have often said that if he would let me...I would pull up a lawn chair and watch him cut the grass. That is... if he does it himself. You know he is a big star now and probably hires someone.
Any who...back to Covert Affairs. Love the show and I have to say; season 2 rocked! So much better than season 1!. I know there are a lot of shippers for the Annie/Auggie thing to happen, but please...not for a while, OK? We don't want to go there too quickly...we like sexual tension. And for golly sakes...don't pull a Bones disaster and bring another chick into the picture once you know A/A like each other.
In the final episode I will have to say the fav moment for me was the A/A hug in the hospital. Can we all say AWWWW?
Perabo's acting was spot on as she told her sister she was a spy and showed her the credentials. Hands shaking, voice trembling...good stuff.
What will happen to Jai? Who did he call? Good guy or bad? What the hell ever happened to the Liza Hearn story and old man Wilcox? That was in the first season and we saw nothing about it! I hope Jai tells Arthur about the old man and gets to stay instead of leave for AZ. I didn't like Joan in season 1...but i love her in season 2. I hope the fun with her character continues in season 2.5.

Bones;
Bones comes back this fall with Bones pregnant by Booth. Holy crap...we waited 6 years for these two to get together and now she is preggers! I also can't wait to see how the Hodgins baby is and meet the new quint-tern.

Neccessary Roughness:
My favorite NEW show. Love this character!!! Strong independant woman with a snarky attitude...gotta love it!! But I hate the TK character...kick his ass off the team already!

Rules of Engagement;
I don't think this show gets the attention it deserves! The cast is fabulous. My favorite is Patrick Warburton. The man is genius at comedy and hope he gets the attention he deserves. His facial expressions are wonderfully funny.

As summer comes to a close....

Well....it's that time again. Summer is closing and our local fair (Canfield Fair) is just around the corner. Soon autumn will be upon us and I do dred the winter months ahead.

Kid #1 enters the second year of college and I am actually happy to hear him talk about going to school to be a golf pro. I know he could do it and would love for him to pursue it (along with a business degree. Kid #2 will be a senior and I hope she enjoys her final year of high school. I hope she is either Prom or Homecoming Queen, I have confidence that she will be voted for one of them. Senior pics will be taken soon and can't wait to see how they come out. My daughter is beautiful...so what can I say...

I am still writing my recaps and reviews and would like to thank all of those who comment, I really appreciate it.I will post a separate entry on my TV shows.

My trip to New York was fun. I went with my daughter and an old friend. I was in awe at how huge everything is. It was so friggin hot though and that made for a lousy walking experience. Going into Tiffany's was fun and bought a trinket for my daughter for her birthday. And by trinket...I mean just that..a small trinket! :-)

Ok, so that is my update for summer.

I am proud to be an Indians fan again!As you recall, back in 2007 my fun adventures of watching us go all the way to the play offs! I will never forget the famous "bug game" as we played the icky Yanks and the bugs came out in full force driving the Yankee pitcher mad! That how we roll here in Ohio! Well it looks as though we just might have that same good season this year. So far we have the best record in the MLB!! Not just the American League, but of the whole MLB!! Go Tribe! Just don't blow it, ok? The fans need this. We need to make it all the way to the Series this time.
I also would like to remind you of my lottery win of buying tickets to the playoff games, here is link of blog entry.It was a total blast and exciting moment for this fan.
So once again, I just want to say, keep up the good work Cleveland, lets take it all the way this year!!

Oh the Horrors of Prom Dress Shopping

So I am now at the point in my life that my daughter is old enough to go to prom. She is now a Junior and of course she got asked to go and of course she HAS to go. Now, for my dilemma: She is a very picky dresser and she thinks money is no option. Even though she has already gone to 3 Homecomings and 3 casual dances... this has to be a long dress and must have bling on it. I have tried with all I can muster to tell her that sometimes simplicity is what makes it more elegant. You also must understand that she looks good even in a burlap sack if she wore it. Yes, I wish I had a body like that even when I was her age.
Back to dresses; Please explain to me why these dress makers have to make the dresses look like hooker dresses? These are for 17 & 18 yr olds not 25 yr olds. Low plunging necklines, low scooped backs and sides cut out...Jeez! Trust me, I am not an old fogey of a mom and I think I am pretty hip on the styles, but there is no way I am spending more money on a dress like these than I did on my wedding dress!
So needless to say, we are coming to crunch time where she will have to make a decision or not go...i trust she will make a decision. I tried to tell her to get a short dress and start a trend, but she looks at me like I'm crazy. Hell, she is popular and class president...if she does something out of the ordinary , they will think it's cool. Oh well...that's my rant of the day.

Ok, I need to try and keep this blog a little more up to date, so let's talk...
Right now this whole Charlie Sheen thing is making me crazy. This man is so out of control it is sick. My son was actually smirking at his life and said he is like the Charlie on the show. I had to explain how this is not right. These teens see nothing wrong with this lifestyle and actually wish they had it. Please son, don't get hooked on the drugs and sex addiction. This Charlie has the balls to cry about how CBS is taking his job, and how is he supposed to support his family. SAVE SOME OF YOUR FRIGGIN MONEY, YOU IDIOT!!!He makes 2 mil an ep and admits to not saving any of it. Are you kidding me!Lets see....20 eps a season, 10 seasons = 400 mill!!! We have an unemployment problem in this country, and you want us to feel sorry for your ass as you "blow" it up the nose and on whores? Really? Then Sheen joins Twitter along with one of his house bitches...the one that is a porn queen. Her tweets are as whore-like as you can get.Gross!
Now, as for our worldly news: Yay to Egypt for standing up and taking matters into your hands and overthrowing the government.
Yay, to Public employees for supporting each other and taking a stand to fight back to the idiots who want to take away bargaining rights from the unions.
New Zealand, I pray that things get back to normal as soon as possible for you after the deadly earthquake.

Hmmm...we have to wonder if there is a bit of a bromance going on with these two...lol.But I love it!!! The woman is Izabella Miko who was shooting Love Bites with them.I just love when the celebs decide to post those off camera, fun pictures....I soooo picked the wrong profession!I had always felt I would be good at acting and why I didn't persue it when I was younger...I have no idea! My dream of meeting Chris Gorham comes true at Answer This Premiere

Well, I just thought that I would share what I did on Fri Oct 8, 2010. I met the man of my dreams in an old theater. Yes, I met Chris Gorham at the premiere of his movie "Answer This". It was a wonderful flick and had lots of humor. But that is not what I really want to share. It was all about meeting Chris in the flesh. I have been such a fan of his for so long that I can't believe that the day finally arrived and I as able to touch him. Well, actually I did more than that, I think I might have freaked him a bit. When I saw him with the rest of my Twitter groupies, I introduced myself to him and gave him a big squeeze with both arms around his waist. He let out a nice big laugh and put his arms around me so I could take a picture. He was so sweet.
At the after-party he took the time to talk just a bit more with us and then gave each of a hug goodbye. Anel, his wife is just as endearing...I just love her. She is funny and sweet and I see why Chris loves her so much!
The next day, my hubby and I went to walk around the town a bit before we headed home. Just as we came out of an old record store, we headed down a alley arcade. I just took a picture of the empty arcade and started to walk when a small boy went past me. As I looked at him I could swear that he looked familiar like as in Chris's son. I turned to see the entire Gorham clan right behind me. Anel recognized me right a way and said hello, which Chris did too. I was like "holy crap, I cant believe this". I didn't want to bother them anymore than what we had already did so I just asked how the night went. He recommended Comet coffee, which I said I would check out after I stopped at the one store I was heading to. They seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere...which later I find out they went to the football game. I can't believe we met again by chance...how cool.The kids are adorable, of course...look at the parents!
I think I also made a fan out of my husband who always thought I was crazy with my schoolgirl crush. But he saw how nice Chris was and was impressed.

skydiving in 2010

So yesterday, Fri. July 30,2010 my son Ben and I went and jumped our asses out a plane...that's right...we took the plunge and went skydiving! It was the most awesome thing in the world. The scary thing is that I was not the least bit nervous during the whole process. Even as I put my first foot out of the plane and had my ass hanging off the edge of the doorway at 10,000 ft, that's right , 10,000 ft.. I was ready. Now how many times did this guy tell me to arch as soon as I roll out...and what so I do? I practically tuck (the opposite)but my wits finally kicked in and went into a arch back and soon we were in a free fall and no longer tumbling. It was awesome!The wind is just in your face and loud as the air is rushing by you. As soon as we pulled the rip cord...it was instant jerk (not too bad) and it got very quiet...eerily quiet..and we took in the sights from up above. A hot air balloon was taking off and we got to see that from a different angle. We did a spiral turn and practiced our landing in the air and then just enjoyed the ride down. A video guy taped the whole thing and was about 6 feet in front of me during the free fall.We landed smoothly on our asses and was so pumped! If you ever get the courage to do it..do it. It is not as bad as you may think. Experience life and do what you want ...before it is too late!

After I come home my day was even more complete when I hear that a friend from Twitter (@debskittles) got to meet Chris Gorham at the Craig Ferguson show. How awesome for her to represent us fans for us. He was so awesome to pick her out of the crowd and take a picture with her and her friends...see? this is why I like him!

Chris Gorham & Piper Perabo Interview- a bit more personal

Finally, I was able to post my interview with hunky Chris Gorham and beautiful Piper Perabo. I didn't know much about Piper untill this show came to town. I have to admit...I am liking her more and more. When I see her do these little video's and interviews, she comes accross very likable and like someone I could be friends with. As for Gorham...well you know how I feel about him and would love to be personal friends with him, but our worlds just won't collide.
So here is the interview that I wrote for TheTwoCents.com. I hope you like it.

I know what you’re thinking…didn’t you just do an interview with Chris and Piper? Well, yes…but a gal just can’t get too much of Gorham y’know and if you think I am going to pass up an opportunity to talk to him and Piper you are SO wrong! I know some fans out there that are depending on me to ask the tough questions and all, and I feel an obligation to do it, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it and it might as well be me.

I thought about going “Barbara Walters” on them…but I didn’t want to have to make them cry. I would much rather hear them laugh.

So, like I said, we have been reading all kinds of articles about the show Covert Affairs and I know everyone is pumped about seeing it, especially me! But I thought I would take a different approach and ask some questions that the fans would like to know about our actors. Sometimes it is just nice to get to know them a little better as people and not about their characters.

I only asked one question that pertained to the show and it seemed as though tons of people asked the same question because Chris finished it for me, lol. I asked “Since there has been so much comparison of this show to Alias, are they considering having Jennifer Garner be a guest?” They laughed and said yes they have talked about it , but no real answer was given to whether she will do it. But what really threw them for a curve is my suggestion to have Matt Damon as a guest (since he IS Jason Bourne), how cool would that be? They liked that suggestion and even asked me if I wanted a job…have your people call my people..oh, wait, I need to find some people first! Just a quick scene where he hands Annie an envelope with information and skitters off would be cool!

Here are my few questions I was able to ask in my quick 5 minutes before I was interrupted by the moderator that my time was up…how dare he, right? So I never did ask Chris the number one question of his female fans..if he is a boxers or briefs man…so Chris, maybe you can answer that on Twitter for us?

Me: What actor or actress would you like to work with that you never worked with yet? It could be on this show or in future project.
Chris Gorham: Dustin Hoffman
Piper Perabo: Adam Brody

Me: Do you have a favorite show you like to watch and try not to miss each week?
CG: Friday Night Lights, Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm and also Damages.
PP: Damages

Me: What was your first real job?
CG: Working in a movie theater (wanted in the business, from the ground level..lol)
PP: Worked at the Information Booth in a mall. (then proceeded to tell Chris that there really are people that came to her explaining they lost their child)

Me: Favorite Musical group?

CG: Right now I am listening to Florence and the Machine, Kings of Leon, and Mingus-because of Auggie.
PP: Naysayer and The Big Pink

Me: Of the roles you have played, what is your favorite?
CG: I like Auggie, he is an injured Vet and has a high level in the CIA with a disability.”Auggie is where it’s at!”
PP: I have to go with Annie, because she knows 9 languages and gets a lot of action, which I enjoy.

What's New? Chris Gorham, that's Who!

Well, Ben is now graduated and on his way to becoming ....well....something. he really doesn't know what he wants to do and that is ok with me. Hell! he is only 18 and I can't believe any 18 yr old knows what the heck they want.
On another note, I am excited about the contact I have had lately with Christopher Freakin Gorham! I got to talk to him on the phone and we have even exchanged words on Twitter. Very cool guy, I must say. He even hooked me up with a early preview of his show which was totally cool on his part...so thank you Chris for helping a girl out! I will forever be your biggest fan.

Summer update

Just an update.
Ben is graduating on June 6th! I can't believe my baby is out of high school. I am so proud of him. He is a good kid and I feel I did a good job raising him. It is tough going thru these teens and all. They all go thru the same stuff we did..well..kind of. They have a lot more crap out there than I did when I was younger, but all in all I can't complain. Then again, he just might being doing some stupid shit that I don't know about and will learn of it later. That's ok, I think I would rather be in the dark until the time comes. Love ya Ben!
His Party plans are coming along nicely. He is going to California for one more time before starting college. Then in July, we hope to skydive..I can't wait!

Sami had her softball awards banquet the other day and she got some special awards. Most Improved and she made all-conference team! I am very proud of her also...when she is not trying my patience. We butt heads a lot but still love her to death!
Ok, not much else going on...so toodles!

Tired of weight gain and dieting!

Ok, so I am disgusted with how the damn dieting is going. Why do we do this to ourselves? This thing we go through: hate the way we look, go on diet, no real results, so we figure why go through the suffering if nothing is going to change for the better? Am I right? As we get older our metabolism slows down...way down. So if you think you can eat the same stuff you did at 30, now that you are 40...you are soooo wrong!I try to stay active to burn some calories, but when working a 40 hr week, I just want to relax when I get home and chill. At least the weather is nicer now and maybe I could force myself to stay on my feet a bit longer before answering the beck and call of the lonely couch that is calling my name by 7pm. I have come to the reality that I will just have to make my meals separate from those of the rest of the family, because lets face it, they NEED the calories because they are so thin. I wasn't blessed that way. I am now going to say I am approaching the "curvy" population.That just sounds so much better than "fat people" lol.From this day forward I vow to eat more salads, veggies and stay the hell away from the "white" foods...you know they are the devil himself!By the way Happy Earth Day!

This is just to let everyone know that I was able to interview the one actor that I just adore, Christopher Gorham! I follow him on Twitter and decided to take the chance and ask him to DM me. He did and I asked if I could interview him with just 5 questions for TheTwoCents and he agreed! How cool is that. I almost had a heart attack! He was very nice and I e-mailed him the questions. He joked to me that "I guess you don't want yes or no answers" in which I replied "um, that would be no and I was hoping to do this over dinner, but thats ok". So here is my interview and you can see I bring up the dinner thing in the beginning. He Tweeted me that day and told me "Thanks to @zewy for a delightful dinner. You're even more charming in person! " Jeez that was great! best moment ever!!!

Michael Buble` concert

Mary jane and I went to see Michael Buble` this past week up in Clevland. We were so excited to see him and decided to make a day of it. We headed up there at about 2pm and did some shopping and ate at Cheesecake Factory...yum!
Then we were at the concert. He put on a wonderful show and played some great songs. "Just haven't met you yet" was of course the one everybody was waiting for. And yes! it was worth the wait! He got very personal with the audience and did a great Michael Jackson impersonation of "Billy Jean" and danced like him. Very funny stuff! Then he explained to a young girl who Ferris Buehler is and how she need to see the movie (especially the float scene) because he was very much influenced by it. If you have Michael coming to a city near you...buy the tickets and go! You will not be disappointed!
Also , before the show was a group called "Naturally 7". They sing acapella and the amazing thing about them is they vocal the sounds of music. You'd swear there was a band playing , but it's them. Here is a clip:

Help! I need to eat healthy and lose some weight!

Just thought I would write a few things, since it has been a while. First of all, I am trying to stick with an exercise routine and getting myself back in shape. I did a heck of a workout last night and can feel it today..which is a good thing. Now. if I could just get in the habit of eating the right things. I am not much of a veggie eater, but I know I need to. My big downfall is the homemade Mac & cheese and anything gooey! But I am writing this as my way of saying ENOUGH! I need to change my ways! So I hope I can count on anyone reading this , to help me out. Is anyone on a healthy eating routine that would like to share with me what works for you?
Now it is Feb. and we have gotten alot of snow lately and that doesn't help motivate me to leave the house to go to the gym. I loved when we got the 17 inches overnight, but we are going on 2 weeks straight of some snow falling everyday...ugh!
On the up turn...I am on Twitter and was very excited when I asked Chris Gorham to DM me. No that is nuttin dirty...it is just a private message between me and him, only. I asked him something and if it pans out I will share it with you. I was very excited that we messaged about 4 times : 0)

I mean c'mon, or don't even attempt to lift the dress up...Jeez!Halle Berry...you rocked this dress. Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to anyone out there that is reading this. hope you have a wonderful holiday and wish you the best in the upcoming year. I really hope things don't get worse for me and my family, i feel it is my turn to have a liitle luck come our way. So, c'mon God...lets send some love to the Basista house! As you know, I love to watch the shows on TV...so shoot me...it's the one thing I enjoy, so what? I am glad to hear Ugly Betty is moving to Wednesdays...Friday was a killer. Of course I love Glee, Bones, Big Bang Theory, Psych and Mentalist,and look forward to new eps in the beginning of the year.
I miss my brothers out in California and Colorado and the new nephew , Silas. He is going to have some great Chrismas's in the coming years.

Well, it has been a while since I posted. I got transferred at work and am still getting adjusted to it. I am Twittering and back on Facebook again. So glad that Chris Gorham is on Twitter and I can see what he is up to. He just announced he will be in yet another indie film called Somebody's Hero So He has had a very busy year, but I am very happy for him. I am still writing reviews and recaps for the TwoCents for the shows Bones and Ugly Betty.
My son just got his 2 Wisdom teeth out...poor kid. He was hallucinating the way home. Funny stuff.
Thanksgiving is around the corner and Christmas will be here before we know it, Holy Crap! and I won't be ready, as usual.

Well, lots of changes. I had to leave my home of Springfield Library to go to Canfield. Now don't get me wrong , its not that I don't like Canfield , but I just loved being in Springfield and the patrons that I got to know so well. Made many new friends and now I have to start all over. It angers me a bit that administration had come to this reaction of the budget cuts when they have millions in the fund they can use for a short while to see if things get better.
Also, the kids are going to Homecoming this weekend and I will be sure to post a pic of that.
Chris Gorham is starring in a new show this winter on USA called "Covert Affairs". I look for ward to seeing his lovely face back on the small screen. I also hope to see him a few times on "Betty" too. You know she belongs with Henry!

Well peeps, I have to move to another location....again! I know , I know...thing just won't be the same. But hey, hang loose and just don't fret the small stuff. I am off to Canfield and will have to make do there. This is a shout out to Karen Wabbit..I will miss you so much. We got to be pretty good friends working out here in Springfield. We had some real good times. Don't stop being the fun energetic person that you are.I hope that eventually funding will let me come back...good God, we can only hope. I love my little New Middletown library and the people there. Got to make many friends with the patrons and will miss them dearly.Yes, my dear friends I thought that the only way I would leave here is when they pry the book from my cold dead hands or when pigs fly...I guess with the Canfield fair around the corner...they must have seen a porker in the sky...

This is just a little tribute to my grandmother. She just passed away today and I will miss her very much. She is the strongest woman I will ever know. Let me tell you a little something. She was born here in the US and then was taken back to Russia. At age 13 her mother put her on a boat and sent her to the US....all by herself! She knew no English and was to catch a train in NY to take her to Mass.Nobody met her in NY and strangers took and gave her something to eat and got her on her way. I can't believe her mother could do that! She couldn't either! She married very young and raised her family of 5 kids. Grandpa died early and grandma cleaned houses to raise money to keep the family going.Our family has never had squabbles and have been a very tight loving family. I am gratfull for her to be our rock. She had 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. I will miss her dearly!

Well it has been a while since I posted anything. Not much happening except for at work we are doing some major cut-backs and it is driving me crazy. They cut staff to bear minimum and expect everything to look just fine. NOT going to happen. The air conditioning is practically turned off and makes it very hard to work when you feel as though you are about to pass out cuz of the heat. More and more people are using the library now in hard economic times, but cuts make it hard to keep up.
Enough rant about that!
Nothing on TV now that Harper's Island is over. Can't wait for fall to bring some entertainment, but not in too big a hurry, it feels as though summer hasn't even begun yet.
Would like to say Happy Birthday to the hubby today!!

ok, so last night we went to the Indians game against the Yankees. As we were getting beat we had a bunch of Yankee fans around us to make it worse. But the funny thing is we has this young kid who was selling candy and as he comes down our row the Yanks are yelling "hey Mclovin, how's it going". This gets smirks even from our beloved candyman. Later some kid runs right past us on the field waving the Indian towel and darts across the whole field stopping the game. It was quite comical, but the kicker was the Yanks started up again by yelling to the cop on the field (who made absolutely no attempt to go after the boy)They were yelling "Hey Hightower, don't go too fast" in case you don't remember...Hightower was a character from "Police Academy" Even the cop laughed.He really did look like him! AHHHH, it was a eventful evening.

Ok so the season is not off to a great start. Let me explain:
We are playing teams in our tier and also above our tier. So far we have only played those ABOVE us, and have lost all of them. Poland which is suppose to have the best pitching staff, we held to 2 runs in the 6th but ultimately gave them 4. So we actually did pretty good. On Saturday, they played a double header losing to Boardman in the first game. When I arrived for the second game Wildcats were losing
7-2 to the Notre Dame Latin in the 5th inning. As we went into the bottom of the 7th, we came back to tie the game 7-7. We went 3 extra innings and lost in the 10th
9-7. I am so proud of them for coming back and making the other team work for the win. This week...if the snow stops...we play some teams in our tier. Good luck!

ok, so I have to tell you about this show I have watched with my 17 year old son. It is called Rob Dyrdek Fantasy Factory. Rob is a pro skateboarder and obviously has way too much money. But I do have to admit....I would love to spend a week with him and his gang and do some of the fun crap he does. Especially the things he makes his lawyer do and the way he treats his own cousin, will have you laughing. So Rob...If you read this...can a 45 year old mom hang with you for a while and have some fun?!

Well, I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my Grandmother. She turned 99 on the
6th. I love my grandmother so very much. She is my rock! Unfortunately, she has outlived 4 of her 5 children. I know grandma feels as though she should have gone before any of them, but I have to say, I don't know what I will do come the day she decides to leave this earth. Now the funny thing is that somehow (probably cause she is 99)she has connections to the "other side". She has told us a multiple amount of times that she has spoken to my past relatives in dreams she has had. This usually happens when grandma has a spell of sorts. Now lately, she has been having mini-strokes that has us concerned.She still tries to talk to us, and she does not too bad a job, untill she starts speaking Russian and we can't understand her. Now, I don't know about any of you, but I totally believe that the spirits of the deceased can and do visit us. Unfortunately, I never get to experience it. Now, my cousin was sitting with my grandmother one day and she said that as she was talking to grandma, grandma looked over her shoulder and started to speak to .....nobody. My cousin just looked at gram and asked who was here. Gram just looked over her shoulder and as clear as I am looking at this computer screen, was seeing someone of another world. My cousin then said gram, put out her hand and shook hands with 2 people (spirits). A cold shiver goes down my spine. Now, let me tell ya, I know it is my father or grandfather or any of my aunts just telling her they are waiting for her, but not to hurry. Then another cousin of mine told me that when her mother died, both of her boys told her that she visited them in a dream. How crazy is that!Maybe it is just that my fathers side of the family is just really cool! Got any story you would like to share?

Well now that the election is over and Obama is going to be President, we can only hope that the country will get back on track. My faith in the American people is restored. But enough of all the political talk, blah, blah, blah...snore!
Now we have to focus on the Holiday's. I would like to think I will get an eary start, but DOUBT IT!! I usually fail at that. But money is tight, heating will suck up most of the cash, but look forward to spending time with friends and family. Sad when you think about it, why do we only do these get-togethers only at holiday time?? We should be doing this more often.I think that will be my New Years Resolution.

Vote! And this time, I’m not just talking about voting a million times for Lance Bass on Dancing with the Stars. I mean, you should, because he’s awesome and Marc threatened to eat a whole tube of raw cookie dough if he loses. But I’m talking about voting for president. I have to be honest with you. My first choice of subject for this week’s blog was going to be about how much I love these new ankle booties that are all the rage. First, they’re called booties, which is fun to say. And second, they’re high heels that are actually comfortable for me to wear because I have wide feet. But I was asked to comment on politics, which I get. I mean, there is an election coming up. (Tee-hee, I just realized if you change the “l” to an “r” in the last sentence, it makes it dirty). Anyway, I read one of those news-type magazines in my dentist’s office while I was waiting for my teeth-whitening, so now I am fully prepared to give you my expert dialysis.

So, you’ve got two guys running against each other – Obama and McCain. Both seem like nice enough guys, so I guess the best way to figure out quién es mas macho is to compare them side by side. First, McCain. Let’s start with the pro’s. He has a hot wife who wears nice clothes. His running mate, also hot, also wears nice clothes. A $150,000 wardrobe? Now that’s someone I can relate to. McCain is also pretty rich – he’s got like seven or eight homes and thirteen cars. He can fly a fighter jet – très cool. And have you seen those old Navy pictures of him? He was kind of a hunk.

Now, let’s look at the pro’s for Obama. He’s also got a hot wife. He works out a lot – I like a man who isn’t afraid to break a sweat. Good dancer (I saw him on Ellen once). He’s from Hawaii, which is pretty sweet. And he’s more lenient on illegal immigration, which is nice because I’d hate for Betty to get deported. Whose outfits would I mock then?

But there are also the cons we have to look at. And that’s how you can really tell if you like someone, right? Anyone who’s been through sorority rush knows that. So let’s see – the first con for McCain is that he has a hot wife. I know I said it was a pro, but I’m thinking now that having a really good looking first lady might make me jealous. Also a con – his wife has all the money. I mean, how strong can a president be if he has to have a sugar mama? Plus he’s old. John McCain? More like walk with a McCane. And I hear that he’s in favor of this thing called the Patriot Act which means he can listen in to all of my calls. Though now that I think about it, voyeurism is kind of a turn on.

The cons for Obama? Other than his hot wife also making me jealous, I’d have to start with the ears. I mean, it’s like Will Smith and Spock had a kid. But I guess if you’re president you can get those pinned. Also, he is a lousy bowler. Now, don’t get me wrong, I hate bowling as much as the next incredibly gorgeous fashionista, but still… the man bowled a 37. Marc went bowling with Cliff once and beat that. And Marc is allergic to sports. Seriously, at the Mode/Elle softball game, someone asked him to throw a ball and he broke out into hives. Obama also wants to raise taxes on rich people and give their money to poor people. Now, since I’m kind of in debt, I’m all for that. But what if I eventually finish my album and become a big pop star someday? I don’t want my hard-earned money going to lazy people like me.

So… who to vote for? I don’t know. Thinking is hard. I might just vote for whoever Marc tells me to vote for. Or Betty. She’s smart. Hmm… I know. I’m just going to do the same thing I do with Dancing with the Stars and vote for Lance Bass.

Well... there sure isn't much going on out there. Nothing to talk about, really. I am glad to see some new shows starting out. Saw "Fringe"... kind of weird but in a good way. Well, I don't know about any of you, but I can not get over the things I have seen so far in these olympics! The opening ceremonies were outstanding. The way they did the whole drum/light thing was great! I also loved the part where it looked like a computer generated image of water droplets landing ... only to find out that people were inside the boxes and standing up in order to show the image (believe me ..you had to see it).
Also impressed w/ Michael Phelps....WOW is all I can say.
Right now the softball games are starting and that is what I would like to see. Last night we beat Venezuela.
I would just like to give a shout out to all the Americans trying to win...Good Luck!

Alright, so I need all you moms out there to help me out. I have a 15 yr old daughter that thinks she knows everything and mom and dad know nothing! Sound familiar? I try to give a little breathing room (you know- the so-and-so mom's let her do it) line you have to hear, so I let her do things, trusting they are being "good". Then WHAM!! You find out shit you were not ready for until they were 17 or 18. Get where I am??? And it doesn't help when you start to lose confidence in the other moms and their judgment.
Got any advice??

It is a drama/horror series on CBS that sound like it starts midseason, so early 2009. Well, I haven't posted in a while so I figured....hell, why not!
I can't believe it is July already, where the heck is the summer going? I have been very busy with watching softball games my daughter is in. She is now on the All-Star team.. way to go Sam!
I have been watching a bit of TV in the evenings and am now hooked on the show "Bones". Has anybody else seen this show? It's kinda like a CSI but Bones is a archeologist and solves crimes when all you have are the bones. She doesn't like getting the corpse when there is still skin on it. Sounds gross, huh? But it is really good. There is a bit of sexual tention between her and her partner, Booth.
I haven't seen any of season 3 (just ended) but I have been watching the reruns of season 1 & 2. It is based on the Kathy Reichs books, she is also a director/writer of the show.
Another show that I got CC hooked on is "Popular", It was on tv in 1999-2000. and is very funny. You can get it through Search Ohio.
I don't know about you other workers, but summer reading has been keeping us busy. I can't believe how busy we have been since school has let out.
As far as the Indians go..... well lets just say , I am a bit disappointed! We all thought that after last year under their belt, this year was going to be ours...NOT!!
Oh well....
Our softball team with Tracy, is not doing well at all, but I am having fun and am glad to be out there doing something I really like to play...thanks Tracey!

Summer softball team

Well... I am happy to say that we finally won a game! WHOOPEE! We actually looked like we knew what we were doing out there. We played a doubleheader and won the first game , 9-5. The second game we lost 13-2. Pitiful!! But hey ... just glad to finally win won. By the end of the game it seemed as though everyone was hurting! They either pulled something, strained something or bruised something.....pretty much .... realized we are not as young as we would like to think we are (lol).

Well I just wanted to say there is some good news!! I just found out that my brother and his wife (in Colorado) are FINALLY expecting their first child!! YEA!!! They have had some problems getting pregnant and I just got the call , she is 7 weeks along. I am so happy for them. They are going to be great parents... just to let you know, Matt is the favorite uncle with the kids. He is also the goofy one that got his tounge stuck on the pole at Christmas time(picture below).
My second good news is that Chris Gorham looks like he is staying with U/B, he just didn't move house and family there. According to some gossip he will just travel to tape his parts, I am so glad!! Good job ABC!!

Well, I am so sad today, I found out my favorite hunky-nerdy accountant is not moving to NY with the rest of the cast. ( sob, sob)I hope he at least shows up once in a while as a guest appearence, at least.Now the article I read doesn't say he is nolonger on the show, it just says he won't be moving to NY. So maybe he will commute(fingers crossed). "Carys-girl"...we can cry together next time we meet. I don't doubt that a show of his own will be offered to him in the very near future, once they find he is available. I would love to see him in something like the Jake 2.0 series he did.
well I have to go cry my eyes out now......

I would just like to say Happy Mothers Day to all of you "Moms" out there! I just hope all of you appreciate your mother or grandmother on this day, if you are still blessed to still have them. I know that after seeing my mom I will go visit my grandmother who is 98 yrs old, God bless her heart! I often think about when she goes and how different it will be. I mean really...when I think about it, she has been here all my life and my kids have had a great-grandma into their teens, how cool is that?! I don't remember either of my great-grandparents. But I just can't imagine her not being around, ya know? So like I said ... be grateful if you have a mom or grandmother still around and give them a hug and wish them the best mothers day ever.

'ol timers acting like kids

Ok so let me tell ya, I was asked to play on a co-ed softball team with Tracy, Trevor, Neil, Jenn and a bunch of others, and I must say...what a wake up call it was at practice yesterday!! Let me just tell ya, you may think you "still have it" until you actually try to "use it" and realize you might have lost "some of it". Now here we are out on the field loosening up, and you realize your having a bit of trouble making a throw quite as far as you'd like. Then while batting you swing (kind hard) and miss, and realize you just might have thrown your back out or you know that by tomorrow you are gonna need the aspirin! So here we are now in the outfield trying to field some fly balls and find out you just can't judge the distance like you use to. I swear..my cousin and I could have sworn this one pop up was coming out to us (now remember , we are pretty far out because the guys were hitting) only to see the the second baseman was gonna make the catch! We just looked at each other and started cracking up!So as the two of us are talking in the outfield I ask where do you want to play? And we both agreed that the infield is a bit scary when the guys hit because they slam the ball! But shit, can you imagine being in the outfield and here comes a fly ball, you start running in to catch it only to realize now you have to quickly start running back because its over your head. We were laughing so hard. Well ....let ya know how it goes...

Well.... guess what chickie-poo's? I am now going to be part of the writing staff at thetwocents.com . My job, of course is to be the writer of Ugly Betty. I will be giving the recap each week of what happened in the episode. I really would like all of you to PLEASE go to the site and leave your two cents on my post. I don't care if you watch the show or not, just leave me a comment and I would be forever grateful! My first review will show up the week of April 24th. Below is some helpful gas-pumping hints that i got off of Agatha's blog.

Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.Hope this will help you get the most value for your money.

ok, so I found out that the next two Betty episodes are titled: "Twenty-four Candles and Burning Questions" I am so excited and can't wait till they come back next month!!!
I have a feeling that maybe the first one will be a take on the "16 candles" movie, you know, where everyone forgets Betty's birthday. Could be good!!! The "Burning Question" one I don't know, could be dealing either withe the Amanda storyline or the Daniel storyline.
Can't wait to find out.

Anymore snowdays??

Well, I know most of us are pretty surprised at how many snow days we got this year. So let me just give a shout out to Mr. S and the Board(because we know it all depends on YSU) for thinking of our safety and closing the library when you did. KUDO'S to you all!

Now...as much as we would like more snow days...I must also say..."c'mon spring"!!!

I cannot wait for all this snow and cold to just go away already. I want to sit on the back porch and have my morning coffee, go to an Indians game and watch the kids with their golf and softball, and most of all , sit in the hammock and daydream!

Well, are all you Cleveland Indian fans ready for another crazy summer??? I see that the Indians will be leaving Florida and heading for Arizona for some more spring training. March 31 is the Indians home opener against the Chicago White Sox. Can't wait for another baseball season! We will pretty much have the exact same team as last year, but now with a little more experience of post-season play under their belt. So I expect to see the same (if not better) season as last year.Go Tribe...I can't wait for the season to start and hope to see some games this year. I am sure I probably won't come close to all the excitement I got to experience last year, but I sure hope so!!!

Well, I just found out that new U/B episodes start April 24. Just in time for May sweeps. According to Silvio Horta (producer) 5 new episodes are coming.

Here’s all the info on returning ABC shows:
“Samantha Who?” returns April 7 with six episodes.
“Boston Legal” returns April 8 with six episodes.
“Desperate Housewives” returns April 13 with five new episodes and a two-hour finale (seven hours total).
“Brothers & Sisters” returns April 20 with four episodes.
“Ugly Betty” returns April 24 with five episodes.
“Grey’s Anatomy” returns April 24 with five original episodes.
“Lost” will move to its new time period on April 24, with five weeks of new episodes.
As expected, “Pushing Daisies,” “Private Practice” and “Dirty Sexy Money” will return
